Rummy 500 Scoreboard: how a round works

One thing to notice as you play

Begin with the objective. Record hand to update both cumulative scores. Negative round totals are allowed. Use another round to revisit a decision.

What the game asks you to do

Keep a two-player Rummy 500 score record, adding meld points and subtracting cards left in hand. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Keep the active rule in mind.

From the start of a round

  1. Enter each player’s meld total and remaining-hand total for the round.
  2. Record hand to update both cumulative scores. Negative round totals are allowed.
  3. Use Undo last hand to remove the latest record, or Clear scores to start again.
  4. The higher score reaching 500 marks the match target. A tie at the target continues.

Making selections and moves

Enter four whole-number values and select Record hand. Results are stored in this browser for this site. Check the relevant controls before continuing. Keep the active rule in mind.

Follow the example

A meld total of 52 minus 17 remaining gives +35 for that round. Take the next action only when the current step is clear.

Where a round can go wrong

A clear plan starts with the current position. The scoreboard performs arithmetic; count the cards under your chosen table rules before entering totals. Use another round to revisit a decision.
