Eight-Ball Pool: how a round works

Something to practise

Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention. Notice the feedback after each input.

What you need to achieve

Clear your assigned group, then legally pocket the eight. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Take a moment to understand the current position.

The order of play

  1. Break the rack.
  2. First legal group pot assigns solids/stripes.
  3. Hit your group first and pocket a ball or contact a rail.
  4. Fouls grant ball in hand.
  5. Play the eight after your group was cleared.

Using the playing area

Touch to aim/place cue ball; set angle and power; Shoot. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. Use one clear input at a time.

Try this example

Pocketing eight before clearing your group loses. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Keep the controls nearby.

A common point of confusion

No object-ball contact is a foul. Check the rule before repeating the action. Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart.
